What really goes on behind the scenes on a Village Life cover shoot? Come with us and we’ll show you…

Rain, hail or shine – the fashion shoot must go on. And that’s tricky when your location is on the back of a classic 1950s vessel, the MV Kalinda, in Sydney’s Cottage Point – and the shoot is for the spring/summer issue (think swimwear, cotton lace dresses and sailor shoes).

Thankfully, there was no rain or hail on this sunny August day – just blissful sunshine, making for perfect weather to nail our fashion shoot. The star players included photographer Fabrizio Lipari, fashion stylist Tanya Levak, hair and make-up artist Nisha Van Berkel and models Alex from Scoop and Rhys from Chic. So join us behind the scenes with the Village Life team and see what happened on our fashion shoot…

A super early start meant the mist was still settling onto the Pittwater

All rugged up: Alex and Fabrizio get to grips with the chill

Soon enough the mist lifted and the sky turned bright blue – hurray!

The pretty backdrop of Cottage Point was our office for the day. Not bad, hey?

It’s a hard life for some. Our models are all smiles as they get snapped away

Working it on the back of the stunning MV Kalinda

Our brief was to capture the relaxed essence of seaside living – and all the hot summer looks to go with it!

Captured! Fabrizio nails the shots
