Sustainable Village

Sustainability News from The Village

St Ives Village is constantly looking at ways to reduce our environmental footprint and revolutionise the way we operate.

Our Focus On Sustainability Continues

The Village’s commitment to creating a greener shopping experience for our community continues! Customers can now borrow a bag from our station to do their shopping and then return one next time they visit. The bag station is located near Harris Farm, opposite Sportscraft.

Ban the Bags

Harris Farm have led the way banning single use plastic bags. Woolworths will be phasing out their plastic bags at the end of June.

Reusable Packaging

The Source Bulkfoods are leading the way at The Village promoting their waste free shopping. Many other retailers are promoting customers taking their own reusable containers.

Centre Upgrades

Following upgrades to The Village, we were able to recycle our old carpet tiles, being put to good use by St Ives Men’s Shed and House with No Steps.

Greener Energy

Energy efficient LED Lights have been installed throughout The Village & in the car park. ‘Greener’ power is now making our power and air conditioning supply more efficient
