Quick and easy on Monday

There’s no denying it – Mondays are tough. So why not make them something to look forward to with yummy and quick meal options? The Market Room, on Level 2, is perfect for picking up a ready-to-eat dinner when you’re in a hurry and tired on a Monday night. In the mood for Asian? Try the tasty ramen from Simply Noodles. Feel like a healthy meal? Head to
Good Day Juice Bar and select from the delicious range of salads on offer there. Or if you’re craving something comforting, try Sourdough Espresso’s specialty risotto.

Lamb on Tuesday

Try an easy, mid-week lamb dish from Prime Quality Meats or Sutcliffe Meats. “Our giant mushrooms come stuffed with a lamb rissole mixture including grated carrot, shallots, Spanish onion, coriander, mint, feta and sundried tomatoes,” says Craig Cook’s manager Erin Dolan. “Simply put in the oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees.” Or, grab a lamb loin stuffed with spinach and feta from Sutcliffe Meats. All you need to do is bake it in the oven for 40 minutes at 180 degrees – then just add salad and enjoy!

Pizza Wednesday

Papa’s Gourmet Pizza and Pasta has a lovely atmosphere, and Wednesdays are no exception. “It’s always relaxed in here – you can sit and watch as your pizza is made. It’s very authentic,” says waitress Georgia Barrie. And there’s much more to the menu than pizza: “It’s authentic Italian with some modern variations.” Changing weekly specials are also worth checking out: they include everything from steak to seafood and, often, unusual pizza combinations. But Georgia’s tip is the kids’ meal deal. “It comes with a main, a drink and a scoop of ice cream for $15,” she says. We also have colouring-in activities for kids. And wine for the parents. Everyone wins!”

Indulge on Thursday

If you’re in the mood for a little indulgence, Top Of The Green is the perfect place to celebrate that the end of the week is drawing near, says waiter Lucas Salvatori: “Our food is really, really good!” Try the luscious fettuccine pasta, served as a generous portion tossed with creamy pesto sauce, or tuck into a tender, aromatic lamb shank, with a hearty side of buttered mash and steamed greens for good measure. The added bonus? Kids dine for free on Thursday nights! And we hate to tempt you, but there’s also a caramel chocolate bar cheesecake available for dessert…

Fast Friday

Fish and chips, or something a little healthier? Both options are available at Seafood @ St Ives, so it comes down to your mood, says manager Kyle Heath. “We can grill anything in the window for you, plus we have a set menu of all your favourites, like salmon and barramundi. I personally recommend grilled salmon, chips and salad – that’s probably our most popular option and it’s really tasty!” You can also grab a cooked dinner to take away and call in advance so it’s ready to go. Or, head over to Fare Game to pick up a flavoursome barbecue chicken or a chicken schnitzel for a quick and satisfying meal.

Weekend delights

Some weekends are about entertaining guests and time spent pottering in the kitchen preparing complex dinners and desserts. Other times, it’s easier to eat out or order in. If you’re at The Village on a Saturday, transport yourself to Asia by popping into Petit Saigon, located on Mona Vale Road, for a fresh Vietnamese dinner. On Sunday, first visit Brendan Dewar Patisserie for dessert to take home: select from luxurious cakes, including citrus tarts, chocolate mousse and macarons. Then grab a sushi dinner from Sushiru Kiosk, or a filling, mouth-watering kebab from Oscar’s Chargrill. Too easy!
